SUMMARY
The Priority Programme for China's Agenda 21 was developed by the State Planning Commission, P. R. China and the State Science and Technology Commission, P. R. China. The document lists 69 priority programmes in 9 groups. These programmes cover the areas of legislation, policies, education, agriculture, environment, energy, transportation, regional development, population, health, and global change research. The Agenda 21 programme is to be embodied into the medium- and long-term plans for China's national economic and social development.
