The ASCII format stores the data as simple text. The first lines of the file give the resolution, number of rows and columns, no data value, and rotation factors. The data are stored in geographic coordinates of decimal degrees based on the World Geodetic System spheroid of 1984 (WGS84). INDIVIDUAL GRIDS NOTE (8/19/15): THE UW AND UWQ GRIDS ARE ACTUALLY PROVIDED IN INTEGER FORMAT. IN ORDER TO CONVERT THESE GRIDS VALUES TO PERCENT, THE GRIDS MUST BE DIVIDED BY 10. UW Percent of children, under the age of 5, who are underweight (year period: 1990-2002), 2.5 minute resolution UWQ Percent of children, under the age of 5, who are underweight (year period: 1990-2002), 0.25-degree resolution UWU5POP Estimate of children, under the age of 5, who are underweight, year 2000, 2.5-minute resolution UWU5POPQ Estimate of children, under the age of 5, who are underweight, year 2000, 0.25-degree resolution U5POP Count of children under age 5, year 2000, 2.5-minute resolution U5POPQ Count of children under age 5, year 2000, 0.25-degree resolution MISSING DATA Missing data are denoted as -9999
