Urban Criteria for Settlements (UN): Communes with 2,000 inhabitants or more.
Administrative Population Edits and Notes: "(1) In Sachsen, only one of the 5 units that make up Vogtlandkreis in the boundary data has 1995 population. The five units are merged and the the total population of Vogtlandkreis estimated by multiplying the available population five times. (2) In Niedersachsen, the polygons for Hannover City and the surrounding Hannover Region are merged and population added together. (3) In Sachsen, polygons for Dresden City and surrounding Dresden Land are merged and population added together. The 2002 population for Dresden in Sachsen is not available, however, 2000 population is provided by the City Administration of Dresden via their website, www.dresden.de. (4) In Thueringen, the population of Eisenach added to Wartburgkreis."
