The CFUND Model

The CFUND Model (Climate Framework for Uncertainty, Negotiation, and Distribution) (Tol 1995) is a probabilistic nine-region world model that combines simple, mostly user-specified emissions scenarios with moderately detailed specification of climate-change damages, including (in addition to agriculture and coastal effects) health, migration, and hurricanes. CFUND can be used to calculate dynamically optimal emission-control policies and permits the exploration of policies based on inter-regional financial transfers and damage compensation (Tol et al. 1995).
