1x1 Degree Gridded Emissions, v1 (1990 – 2100)

These grids of sulfur (SO2) emissions are based on version 1.1 of the final SRES emissions scenarios. The version 1.1. emissions are not completely identical to those in Appendix VII of the SRES report as published by Cambridge University Press (2000). In a small number of cases slight corrections were made after the publication of the document to prevent negative emissions which occurred as a result of the
standardization procedure.

Grids have been produced for all six illustrative scenarios. These are:
    The four marker scenarios
        A1B-AIM
        A2-ASF
        B1-IMAGE
        B2-MESSAGE
plus two additional illustrative scenarios from the A1 scenario family:
        A1G-MiniCAM (a.k.a. A1FI)
        A1T-MESSAGE

Grids are produced for each year from 1990 to 2100 (emissions in 1990 and 2000 are the same in all scenarios).

Emissions are in units of TgS. Emissions are in a block, with values tab separated, scientific format, with each line terminated by a carriage return and linefeed (MS DOS style). Lines correspond to rows of constant latitude. The first point is for the cell 180-179 W Lon, 89-90 N lat.

The file:
    SO2 Values.csv
Contains regional values by year for each of these scenarios.

The grids for Reactive Gases (CH4, CO, NOx, and NMVOC) are based on version 1.1 of the final SRES emissions scenarios. The version 1.1. emissions are not completely identical to those in Appendix VII of the SRES report as published by Cambridge University Press (2000). In a small number of cases slight corrections were made after the publication of the document to prevent negative emissions which occurred as a result of the standardization procedure.

plus two additional illustrative scenarios from the A1 scenario family:
        A1G-MiniCAM (a.k.a. A1FI)
        A1T-MESSAGE

Grids are produced for each year from 1990 to 2100 (emissions in 1990 and 2000 are the same in all scenarios).

Units are as specified in each file. Emissions are in three columns that contain lon, lat, and value.

The file
    Reactive Gases.csv
contains a list of regional values for each gas and time period.

Please contact Steve Smith at ssmith@pnl.gov with technical questions about the gridded data.
