PLACE version 3 is available in two formats. The Excel (.xlsm) format is a workbook with macros that enable pivot table features. For users with access to Excel functionality, this download version is preferable, since it permits sophisticated queries of the data set. For those without Excel, or who have higher end statistical packages and associated skills, the CSV version is the full data set without the pivot table feature. An accompanying readme file provides information on the variable names and descriptions.
