Purpose:
To provide areas of higher richness of threatened species which may be at risk from climate stressors in the coastal zone of West Africa.
Abstract:
The West Africa Coastal Vulnerability Mapping: Subset of Global Mammal and Amphibian Richness Grids, 2015 Release was extracted from the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC) Gridded Species Distribution collection created from vector data files acquired from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List collection. Threatened species include any species classified as vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered. The data represent the density of threatened mammals and amphibians within 200 kilometers of the coast at a one kilometer resolution.

* When authors make use of data they should cite both the data set and the scientific publication, if available. Such a practice gives credit to data set producers and advances principles of transparency and reproducibility. Please visit the data citations page for details. Users who would like to choose to format the citation(s) for this dataset using a myriad of alternate styles can copy the DOI number and paste it into Crosscite's website.

† For EndNote users, please check the Research Note field for issues with importing authors that are organizations when using the ENW file format.
