Problems in Integrated Assessment
The purpose of our discussion here is to provide the IA community with examples of problems and pitfalls in current integrated assessment efforts. We intend that these examples serve both as warning signs, and as the basis for identifying not only the causes of problems in IA but also possible solutions and issues that the community needs to address. The examples suggest that a central problems with IA is the issue of quality control. Section 6 discusses some of the issues raised here in greater detail, from the viewpoint of identifying specific areas on which the IA community needs to focus its attention.
