CHINA ADMINISTRATIVE REGIONS GIS DATA: 1:1M, COUNTY LEVEL, 1990 and 1 July 1990

Data Sources

The China Administrative Regions GIS Data: 1:1M, County Level, 1990 were provided by Dr. Liu Chuang (Information Scientist of CIESIN - Center for International Earth Science Information Network, USA), Prof. Yao Xurong (Professor of Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping, Beijing, China) and Prof. William Lavely (Director of CITAS - China in Time and Space - Project and Associate Pro fessor at University of Washington, Seattle, USA).

The data were created from four sources: (1) China time series administrative divisions changes, (2)China time series administrative regions boundary changes, (3) China time series GuoBiao (National Standard of P. R. China) code changes for the administr ative divisions, and (4) China geographical location names changes. The data of China Administrative Regions GIS Data: 1:1M, County Level, 1990 were based on maps provided by CASM as well as other references publicly available in China. These references a re listed below:
